Function
Your function within Beam Labs will be versatile and challenging. A couple of examples of the things you’ ll do are developing new Android apps that are specifically made for Beam, compiling your own Android Rom, making back-end programs in C/C++, implementing communication protocols, making Beams network accessible, etc.
Because Beam is a startup you’ll work directly alongside the co founders and you’ll be involved in all other Beam related matters, like new products, functionalities or even the website design.
You are:
- Experienced in making Java/Android/C/C++ apps;
- And if you also have iOS dev skills that would be awesome;
- You’d like to work in Geldermalsen (near Utrecht);
- You’re an early adopter of new technologies
- You learn fast and you like to find out and learn new things;
- You have at least 2 years of experience as a professional developer (experienced with version control, different IDE’s etc.)

Job summary
Beam Labs is the manufacturer of Beam, the smart projector that fits in any light socket. Beam turns any surface into a big screen. It’s a beautifully designed smart projector that is controlled with your smartphone (iOS or Android). The design has been awarded with the Red Dot and iF Design Award. Last month, Beam has even won a Consumer Electronics Show Award in the category ‘Smart Home’ for being innovative.
You can install any app on Beam, so you can watch Netflix or YouTube on a big screen or even on your bedroom ceiling while you are in bed. You can share photos or videos on your smartphone with your friends and family via Airplay or Miracast. Moreover, Beam also works as a dimmable LED-light!
Beam Labs started as an ambitious project where we launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter for our first product Beam in February 2015. This campaign was so successful that we raised a total amount of $760,000 which results in the best funded Kickstarter-campaign of The Netherlands. Meanwhile, Beam is up and running and we sell to retailers all over the world, such as Harrods (UK), Amazon and Coolblue (NL). The Beam team consists of hugely talented engineers, designers, marketing and sales colleagues.
Beam is also very suitable for the B2B market. This includes solutions for retail, hospitality and public spaces. We are now looking for an experienced B2B sales person to join our team and to show us the way in B2B-land. Job description
- You’ll be responsible for the international sales of Beam with our B2B Digital Signage solution
- You create sales and marketing plans based on current and upcoming products
- You are doing desk and/or field research to develop new business
- Account management
- You’ll set up international distribution channels
- Supporting distributors and agents by management, coaching and training
- The internal communication of the right market feedback
- Open, clear and communicative with colleagues and management
- You’ll report directly to the CEO
Job requirements
- At least HBO (college) level
- You have a natural talent in generating new business opportunities
- You have a passion for entrepreneurship
- You have creative skills and a creative mindset
- You are dynamic, cheerful and enterprising personality with winning attitude
- You are goal-oriented and proactive in finding new business opportunities and possibilities
- You are excellent verbally and written in both Dutch and English
- You are willing to pick up things that are not in your field to help Beam Labs creating an international brand
- You have experience with digital signage
- You have a relevant B2B network
- You are willing to travel internationally
