Can I copy my smartphone/tablet display onto Beam?

For iOS:

You can use the function called ‘Airplay’ to mirror your screen onto Beam. In the AirPlay menu select AirReceiver (Beam-v1).

For Android:

Follow the steps listed below to successfully mirror your Android devices screen to Beam. For this example we have used the app called ‘Miracast Player’, but you can always substitute this program for an application which works in a similar way.

  1. Download the App ‘Miracast Player’ on Beam by using the Google Play Store.
  2. Open the App ‘Miracast Player’ on Beam, using the Beam Remote.
  3. Check the box in the bottom of the screen: ‘Don’t use a built-in player’.
  4. Go to the settings of the Android device you want to mirror, select display, and then go to ‘Cast’. You can only have this option in your display if your Android runs on 4.4.2 or higher.
  5. Select ‘Cast’ and wait for the connection to establish!

Please note that some Apps, for example gaming apps with lots of motion, can be better played directly on Beam for a more fluent experience.
